Thanks to the technological advancements provided by our proprietary Voyager engine, Beyond Good & Evil 2 aims to offer an organic, seamless experience of exploration and space piracy on a solar system scale, featuring exotic locations, colorful characters, and numerous mysteries to uncover, either solo or with friends.

The Level Design team builds the key locations of an open world; it needs a leader to structure, streamline, and elevate the overall quality.

  • Team Management: Lead a team of 6–7 Level Designers. Help less experienced team members develop their skills by sharing best practices. Empower senior team members to take ownership of key areas. Create a clear framework without being prescriptive: explain, persuade, and align.
  • Organization & Documentation: Anticipate risks, workload, and dependencies. Facilitate smooth communication with the gameplay, art, and tech teams. Define, document, and implement simple and effective processes. Document best practices and world-building guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • You have previously worked on AAA games and have shipped multiple games, these are mandatory requirements for supporting our teams.

  • Methodology & Production: Experience with iterative design (prototype → test → improvement). Ability to anticipate problems and dependencies. Good understanding of 3D engines and pipelines.
  • Communication & Leadership: Ability to justify your decisions. Challenge requests without causing roadblocks. Find the right balance between quality, time, and constraints. Communicate regularly.
  • Structuring: Be comfortable with documentation. Establish clear processes. Provide transparency to the team.
