Business Change Accountant

We are seeking a Business Change Accountant to join our Finance team on a fixed-term contract for one year. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting functions of multiple service areas, ensuring their sound running within Council Policy and the medium-term financial position of the Council. This will include:

• Ensuring that Financial Procedures and practices are followed, and contributing to ensuring the Council meets its section 151 responsibilities
• Being responsible for ensuring that these services are professionally managed and delivered at the operational level, including budget setting and closure of accounts
• Supporting senior managers in the day-to-day managing and developing of staff and performance
• Being a proactive and innovative problem solver
• Fostering cross-service working within and beyond the Council and committing to cost-effective service

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, effective time management skills, and be a good team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision. Previous Local Government Accounting experience is essential for this role.

In return, we offer a salary of GBP 45,750 - 49,056 per year, and a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between the office and home.
