Description
We're seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Database Engineering team, which provides 24/7 operational support for customer environments. You'll work on large-scale MySQL and open-source database environments, participate in on-call rotations, drive automation, and help architect database services.
Responsibilities
- Support large-scale MySQL and open-source database environments across production and development systems
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical production issues
- Drive automation to improve availability and scalability
- Help architect both existing and new database services in our production environment
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience managing databases for enterprise cloud applications at scale
- 3+ years of experience working with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL database environments in private and public cloud platforms
- Experience with managed cloud databases and core architecture principles
- Background as a Database Engineer/Architect/DRE operating Linux-based, clustered open-source and NoSQL technologies
- Proficient in Python or Go, with secondary scripting experience
- Proven experience with Linux operating systems and containerized environments
- Hands-on experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools
Nice to Have
- Deep knowledge of MySQL GTID, group replication, and Galera HA solutions
- Solid understanding of IaaS capacity management principles
- Proficiency with GitHub, Jira, and Confluence
- BS/MS in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience
