Description
We are seeking a senior technology finance leader to own the financial management of a technology domain or platform portfolio. The successful candidate will have end-to-end accountability for the financial position of the assigned technology domain or platform portfolio, integrating complex run, change, supplier, workforce, tooling, licence, and investment cost drivers into a single decision-quality view for senior leadership.
The post holder will manage and assure a complex annual cost base of approximately GBP 25 million, subject to confirmation through the Rewards and Finance calibration process. The role is accountable for forecast integrity, cost control, financial risk, investment insight, and the quality of submissions feeding consolidated DPTF reporting and leadership decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Budgeting, forecasting, and performance: owning the budget, forecast, and actuals, planning and tracking the cost base to the enterprise finance timetable
- Financial operations: running financial operations, including accruals, reclasses, cross-charges, purchase orders, invoices, and payment follow-up
- Cost transparency and reporting: providing cost transparency, including vendor, contractor, and unit-cost views at the level leadership needs
- Contract and vendor financial management: governing contract spend, renewals, extension pipelines, and financial commitments
- Governance and standards: applying central Technology Business Operations financial standards, definitions, and controls
The ideal candidate will have:
- A BS or MS degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Technology Management, or a related field
- Professionally qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) with a recognised accounting or cost-management credential
- 15 years of experience in finance, including substantial experience as a senior finance partner to a large, complex, and globally distributed technology or infrastructure organisation
- Experience owning budgets, forecasts, actuals, and cost transparency for a technology function, domain, or business unit
- Strong skills in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost transparency
