Civil Engineering Intern- Summer 2027

WSP USA is offering a Full-Time Civil Engineering Intern position as part of their Summer Internship Program. The internship will last for 12 weeks, starting on May 17th, 2027, and is open to students currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.

As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers on transportation infrastructure projects throughout Arizona. Your tasks will include:

• Supporting various engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills
• Learning basic principles of Civil and Transportation Engineering
• Assisting with roadway design activities, including horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway cross sections, intersection layouts, and grading
• Participating in project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis
• Supporting preparation of engineering plans, specifications, quantity calculations, and construction cost estimates
• Collecting and maintaining project documentation
• Assisting with engineering calculations, technical evaluations, and preliminary design analysis
• Gaining exposure to roadway design software, including Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D

Requirements:

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later
• Must be 18 or older
• Demonstrated interest in Civil or Transportation Engineering
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with engineering design software such as Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D
• Basic understanding of roadway geometric design, engineering drawings, and transportation infrastructure
• Familiarity with engineering principles and standards related to roadway design
• Prior internship experience, engineering-related project work, or leadership involvement on campus

Compensation:

• Expected Salary: $19 - $30
