Description
Zscaler seeks a hands-on, visionary Engineering Manager to lead and grow a core segment of its platform engineering team in the India region. This hybrid role, based in Bangalore, reports to the Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering in the Engineering department.
The ideal candidate will provide active architectural oversight, review and challenge system designs, and guide technical trade-offs. They will lead high-caliber software and platform engineers building managed data stores, internal developer platforms, and automation pipelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide architectural oversight and review system designs
- Work closely with senior engineers and tech leads to debug complex system bottlenecks
- Build, scale, and mentor high-performing software engineering teams
- Drive delivery of internal developer platforms and automated cloud infrastructure
- Bridge execution between the India hub and global engineering stakeholders
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years of engineering management experience
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud architecture
- Strong technical fluency across modern tech stacks
Preferred qualifications:
- Proven ability to leverage AI technologies and workflows
- Deep platform engineering and core infrastructure expertise
- Hands-on technical leadership philosophy
