Description
Electronic Arts is seeking a Game Designer - Gameplay to join EA SPORTS FC Mobile. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and refining the core gameplay experience of a mobile football game.
Responsibilities
- Design and iterate on core action mechanics such as shooting, passing, dribbling, defending, and goalkeeping.
- Develop and maintain gameplay systems including player attributes, skill moves, tactical systems, and AI behavior.
- Rapidly build gameplay prototypes and validate design hypotheses through playtesting and data analysis.
- Produce clear design documents, mechanic rules, and tuning parameters.
- Collaborate with animation, physics, and engineering teams to polish control response, animation transitions, and feedback.
- Adjust gameplay values and difficulty curves based on player behavior data and competitive fairness.
- Study real football rules, tactics, and player characteristics, translating them into gameplay mechanics.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in game design gameplay, with at least one shipped title.
- Deep understanding of core gameplay and control design for action or sports/competitive games.
- Familiarity with mobile interaction constraints and design techniques.
- Rapid prototyping skills (e.g., Unity/Unreal Blueprints).
- Solid data-analysis skills, with the ability to drive design decisions with data.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills in both English and Chinese.
