Description
We are seeking a Junior or Expert Electronics Hardware Engineer to join our powertrain engineering team at AVL in Regensburg, Germany. You will work closely with teams in Istanbul and Warsaw on development projects in power electronics, focusing on DC-DC converters, on-board chargers, and inverters for industrial and automotive applications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the development team on power electronics and control electronics projects
- Working on practical aspects of power electronic products, such as circuit and schematic development, layout of power and gate boards, DC-link design, and thermal and mechanical considerations
- Supporting the testing of electronic prototypes in various ongoing programs
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A PhD, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Practical experience with PLECS, LT Spice, and Altium
- Knowledge of grid-coupled power electronics for high and medium voltage operation is a plus
- Good understanding and experience with implementing silicon carbide and IGBT technology for blocking voltages of 1200 V, 2.3 kV, 3.3 kV, and higher
- Familiarity with auxiliary power supplies for gate drivers in power electronic products
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Excellent English and German language skills
