Description
We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. You'll develop software consistent with Cisco's Design Thinking Principles, focusing on simplification and User Experience (UX) at its core. You'll use secure coding practices, ensure user privacy, and follow software development best practices.
You'll partner with other teams, including design and product management, to create the right solution for customers. You'll also create technical design documentation and contribute to user documentation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the solution of straightforward business problems
- Analyzing information and asking questions to check for understanding
- Establishing relationships and collaborating with your team
- Collaborating with others on projects and working on small-to-medium features
- Applying understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile engineering practices
- Participating in delivery of technical design features with guidance
- Writing functional clean code and unit tests with guidance
- Performing parts of the coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the development process under supervision
- Assisting in code reviews and addressing code review feedback
- Executing tests for scale, reliability, and velocity within your code
- Applying depth of knowledge in secure coding principles and reviewing others' code for compliance
- Monitoring and triaging incident reports and participating in postmortems and potential on-call duties
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree + 2 years of related experience OR Master's degree + 0 years of related experience
- Basic knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts within a technical discipline
