At Braze, we're a customer engagement platform that helps brands deliver great customer experiences. We're seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Messaging Experience (MX) team, which owns the user experience for creating Canvases and Campaigns in Braze.
The MX team aims to make this workflow as cohesive, efficient, and delightful as possible for marketers. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will own a multi-year roadmap that balances continuous refinement from user feedback and research with foundational investment, raising the bar for front-end quality, consistency, and delivery speed across the team.
You will set the team's engineering direction and processes, grow its engineers and technical leads, own hiring for the team, and partner closely with the Product Manager and Designer so that engineering effort lands on the outcomes that matter most to marketers.
Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- 5+ years managing software engineering teams
- Demonstrated experience in technical leadership
- Track record of delivering large, customer-facing web applications
- Strong technical judgment in modern front-end stacks (React, TypeScript, design systems)
- Experience working closely with Product and Design
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, MongoDB, Redis, Kubernetes, Datadog, or large monolith-to-modular migrations
For candidates based in Canada, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between CA225,850-CA383,661/annually, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between CA253,600-CA430,800/annually (including bonus or commission).
