Description
Spire Southampton hospital is seeking a strong administrator to support the Health and Safety Manager in coordinating and implementing the delivery of Health, Safety and Risk strategies at the facility including waste responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have admin experience, ideally working within healthcare, and experience or understanding of Health & Safety and risk issues and legislation or a keen interest to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the Health & Safety Management System folder
- Collate H&S incidents from Datix reports
- Update local health and safety arrangements / policies as required
- Maintain the Hospital Wide Action Plan spreadsheet
- Administer Health & Safety Flash alerts
- Manage Health & Safety Training records
- Advise the Health and Safety Manager on actions or risk assessments
- Take minutes and distribute them for Health and Safety meetings
- Complete further Health and Safety Qualifications as part of this role
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in the healthcare industry or a similar customer-orientated organisation
- 3 years of administration experience ideally in a healthcare setting
- Understanding of Health & Safety and risk issues and legislation would be an advantage
- Competent user of the MS Office suite of products
- Ability to understand and manage effectively the impact of competing pressures and conflicting priorities
- Proactive and able to self-motivate
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal and team working skills
Contract: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday core business hours
