Description
We are seeking a skilled Demi Chef to join our team at The Café in Hong Kong.
As a Demi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. You will also wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients, and prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards
- Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
- Testing foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
- Monitoring food quality while preparing food
- Setting up and breaking down work stations
- Serving food in proper portions onto proper receptacles
- Washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
You will also be required to follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to managers, and complete safety training and certifications.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- At least 1 year of related work experience
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
