Description
As a Manager, Data Scientist - Credit Review at Capital One, you will lead the next wave of disruption using the latest computing and machine learning technologies across billions of customer records. Your role involves leveraging a broad stack of technologies like Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more to reveal insights hidden within huge volumes of data.
You will build statistical and machine learning models to challenge existing models in production and translate complex work into tangible business goals. Collaboration with a cross-functional team of data scientists, credit risk experts, and product managers is crucial to delivering products customers love.
The ideal candidate is technical, statistically-minded, innovative, and creative. They should be comfortable with open-source languages, have hands-on experience with data science solutions, and be able to interpret complex data metrics.
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related).
- At least 1 year of experience leveraging open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis.
- At least 1 year of experience working with machine learning.
- At least 1 year of experience utilizing relational databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) plus 3 years of experience in data analytics.
- At least 4 years of experience in Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis.
- At least 4 years of experience with machine learning.
- At least 4 years of experience with predictive modeling.

- McLean, VA: $197,300 - $225,100
- New York, NY: $215,200 - $245,600
- Plano, TX: $179,400 - $204,700
- Richmond, VA: $179,400 - $204,700
- Riverwoods, IL: $179,400 - $204,700
