Description
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient applications, primarily for PING ID Solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building high-performing teams, driving engineering excellence through modern architecture, high-quality engineering, automation, security, CICD, and operational best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, development, and support of secure, scalable, and high-performing applications
- Hands-on software engineering activities, including coding, solution design, code reviews, architecture governance, troubleshooting, and technical delivery
- Defining and implementing engineering standards, patterns, and development best practices
- Driving adoption of modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security controls, and release automation
- Collaborating closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Security, Platform, and QA teams to deliver integrated digital solutions
- Ensuring compliance with enterprise security, risk, governance, and regulatory requirements
- Guiding architectural discussions and ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned to engineering standards
- Providing technical leadership across various technologies like PING ID, Java, JavaScript, API, Docker, Google Cloud, and secure code engineering
- Mentoring and coaching team members on career development through feedback, technical assistance, performance management, and development planning
- Fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and team growth initiatives
- Championing DevSecOps practices, observability, reliability engineering, and operational excellence across the mobile landscape
- Promoting knowledge sharing through code reviews, technical discussions, pairing sessions, and documentation
- Balancing technical excellence with delivery commitments and business outcomes
The ideal candidate will have:

Technical skills and experience:
- Ability to design, build, test, and operate production services using technologies such as ProofID Skillset, Java, JavaScript, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Ability to use AI engineering tools to accelerate research, code understanding, prototyping, implementation, and documentation
- Experience building production services, distributed systems, or shared platform capabilities
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, RESTful services, integration contracts, and data or domain models
- Experience turning requirements and ambiguous problems into designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions
- Experience with authentication, authorization, and identity management
- Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly, collaborate across teams and time zones, and support other engineers through feedback and knowledge sharing
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token exchange, policy systems, delegated administration, or identity data modelling
