Description
You will play a crucial role in providing desktop support for USSTRATCOM, a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot information systems, applications, servers, and peripheral hardware across mission-critical environments.
- Support day-to-day IT operations including system repairs, software updates, patching, and hardware replacements.
- Provide technical assistance for end-users, resolving issues related to system access, networking, applications, and workstation performance.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and escalate complex problems to engineering or cybersecurity teams as needed.
- Maintain Active Directory accounts, group policies, permissions, and system configurations in accordance with security standards.
- Document troubleshooting steps, repair actions, system changes, and operational procedures.
- Support deployments, installations, and integration of new equipment, routers, servers, and system software.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in technical support, system maintenance, or IT operations.
- Technical training, certification(s), or degree.
- ITIL Foundations v4 Certificate or the ability to obtain within 9 months.
- 8140 Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Current/active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI status.
- Experience in providing technical support in secure, mission-focused environments.
- Proficiency with Active Directory, MS Office, system software, server software, and workstation troubleshooting tools.
- Knowledge of Linux, networking fundamentals, routers, databases, and system security best practices.
