We are seeking a Forward Deployment Engineer to design, develop, and improve software using various engineering methodologies. As a Forward Deployment Engineer at Barclays, you will provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and devise solution strategies.
- Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed about industry technology trends and contribute to the organisation's technology communities.
- Ensure adherence to secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing practices.

Requirements
- Experience with AI/ML, including developing and deploying solutions using LLMs, RAG architectures, and modern AI frameworks.
- Ability to translate multi-layered business problems into technical solutions and experience working with business stakeholders.
- Solid software engineering foundation with proficiency in Python, cloud platforms, APIs, and full-stack development.
- Experience with MLOps practices, including model deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent communication and consulting skills.
- Experience with vector databases, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning.
- Knowledge of data engineering, analytics, and visualisation tools.
- Experience with React/JS Frameworks.
