We are seeking a Mobile AVP Software Engineer to spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionize our digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences.
The successful candidate will have strong Android development experience with expert knowledge of Kotlin and experience supporting legacy Java codebases. You will be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
- Participating in code reviews and promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing
- Staying informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contributing to the organisation's technology communities
- Adhering to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions
As an Assistant Vice President, you will be expected to:
- Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness
- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well-developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function
- Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraise performance relative to objectives, and determine reward outcomes
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- Android SDK, Android Studio & Jetpack Components
- Building modern Android applications using XML and Jetpack Compose, Navigation Component and Compose Navigation, Architectural patterns (MVVM, MVP), Kotlin Coroutines and Flows, and Dependency Injection (Hilt / Dagger)
- Networking technologies such as Retrofit and OkHttp
- Automated testing using JUnit, Mockito, and/or MockK, Compose UI Testing
- CI/CD pipelines, ideally Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, Snyk
- GitFlow and Trunk-Based Development
- Android App Bundles (AABs) and release processes
- Monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, Firebase, or similar tools
