Description
As a Software Engineer II on Toast's Payments team, you will contribute to the development of a unified payment processing solution. This platform offers a single, integrated service for payment acceptance across various channels and supports a configurable enterprise approach.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and deliver features for Toast's payments products
- Develop and implement automated test suites to ensure high-quality code
- Roll out features to customers and monitor for success
- Collaborate with UX and PM on feature definition and design
- Partner with various teams across Toast
- Work with experienced engineers to deliver design and code reviews
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience designing and implementing robust backend services using Kotlin
- Proven ability to develop scalable and secure APIs that integrate with internal/external systems
- Knowledge of API lifecycle management best practices, including versioning, documentation, and deprecation strategies
- Proficiency in Kotlin-specific frameworks and libraries for building efficient backend solutions
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies
Nice to Haves:
- Proficiency in DynamoDB
- Familiarity with AI-augmented development workflows and tools
We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
