As a Manager, Data Scientist - Recommendation & Personalization Systems at Capital One, you'll lead the development of cutting-edge personalized recommendation engines. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to deliver products customers love, leveraging technologies like Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver customer-centric products
- Leverage a broad stack of technologies to reveal insights in large volumes of data
- Build machine learning models through all phases of development
- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science)
- 6+ years of experience in data analytics (for Bachelor's degree), 4+ years (for Master's degree), or 1+ year (for PhD)
- Experience with open-source programming languages, machine learning, and relational databases
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in STEM field with 3+ years of experience in data analytics
- Experience with Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis
- Experience with machine learning, SQL, and AWS
What We Offer
- Competitive salary: $197,300 - $225,100 (McLean, VA), $215,200 - $245,600 (New York, NY and San Jose, CA)
