Description
The Boeing Company is seeking a Materials and Processes Test Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The qualified candidate will work in a fast-paced dynamic Boeing Defense and Space Research lab that supports QA/QC, Design and Development, and Investigative tasks to ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting long-term testing of material compatibility for compliance
- Maintaining test equipment for complex test requests
- Testing design and execution of pressurized systems (hydraulic and pneumatic)
- Tool design for efficiency projects in a lab environment
- Proficient in Python programming, data collection, and modeling
- Incorporating changes to specifications and documents to manage material, part, and process deployment
- Performing tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes
- Assisting with supplier qualification activities
- Conducting basic analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures
- Implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Using project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
- Incorporating environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles in daily work
The position requires 2+ years of related work experience and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent qualifications. Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of related work experience and experience in Aerospace performing Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering work.
The pay range for this position is $76,000 - $135,000 (P2) or $93,000 - $165,000 (P3), depending on experience and qualifications.
