The Product Compliance & Risk (PC&R) team sits at the centre of Wise’s product development function, supporting cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional compliant-by-design products for customers.
We’re seeking a highly motivated, customer-centric individual to join our team to leverage their deep understanding of India regulatory requirements and expectations to launch new products, grow our presence and manage compliance risks in India.
This hands-on first line of defence (1LOD) role involves working closely with product teams in APAC and globally to ensure controls strike the right balance between meeting compliance requirements and maximising customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design and continuously improve products and controls, leveraging deep understanding of Wise product and regulatory requirements and risks to support new product launches.
- Manage regulatory and financial crime risk, staying ahead of trends and the regulatory agenda in India, identifying, assessing, and presenting risks quantitatively and qualitatively.
- Conduct regulatory gap analyses, define and scope actions to remediate gaps, and ensure implementation plans are executed in a timely manner.
- Represent Wise through external engagements such as audits and regulatory inspections.
Requirements:
- Expert in regulatory and financial crime compliance and risk management in India, with 10+ years experience in financial services.
- High levels of ownership and autonomy, with the ability to proactively identify improvement opportunities or areas of elevated risk.
- Problem-solving attitude, with the ability to analyse and interpret complex regulatory and risk management frameworks.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with different audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills, to work effectively with different stakeholders globally.
Nice to have:
- Previous experience working directly with product and engineering teams.
- Willingness to travel, as Wise offices are located across different countries.
- Legally authorised to work in India or Singapore.
