Description
We're looking for a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to keep our AWS environment automated, secure, and available. You'll handle implementation, administration, and monitoring of systems that enable teams to release software quickly.
Responsibilities:
- Implement configuration and automation tools for deploying, testing, and upgrading software across our infrastructure
- Troubleshoot moderate to complex issues in cloud environments with limited supervision
- Evaluate new applications and tools to meet business requirements
- Ensure optimal performance and functionality for systems and technologies
- Verify application results through system audits
- Assist in designing, testing, and implementing disaster recovery and backup procedures
- Implement monitoring tools and processes for high system availability
- Assist in ensuring company information security and compliance requirements are met
- Perform system administrative tasks and design technical solutions
- Create reports and dashboards
- Develop architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting documentation with internal stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field with 4+ years of IT or Business Systems experience
- 2+ years of experience supporting customer-facing production systems in a datacenter or cloud environment
- 3+ years of experience with AWS technologies, including 2+ of the following: EC2, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, Route 53, API Gateway, Control Tower, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, Sagemaker, IAM Policies, ECR, S3, DynamoDB, Config, Systems Manager, Service Catalog, AWS Backup, Secrets Manager, GuardDuty, Macie, Certificate Manager, KMS, WAF, Security Hub, SNS, SQS, and Step Functions
- Python or Bash scripting experience
- Understanding of IT systems, information security, and cloud systems
- Ability to communicate effectively and multitask
Desired qualifications:
- Experience with multiple AWS technologies to design well-architected solutions
- AWS certifications
- Advanced experience with security controls, monitoring, encryption, and alerting
- Familiarity with distributed version control and continuous integration
- Troubleshooting network and firewall issues between cloud and physical environments
- Experience with development, test, and production environments
- Related professional certifications
The base salary range for this job is: $93,900-$159,600 USD
