Associate Director, Local Client Partnerships

Axios is seeking an Associate Director, Local Client Partnerships to drive revenue growth through new partner acquisition and account expansion in local markets.

This high-impact role involves building pipeline, closing new business, and expanding Axios' footprint across local markets, reporting to the Managing Director of Regional Client Partnerships.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a clear outbound sales strategy to grow a local territory, focusing on net-new revenue and category expansion.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline through prospecting, networking, and market engagement.
• Identify, prioritize, and win new business with local and regional advertisers, leading the full sales cycle.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of sales experience in the digital media/news industry, with a strong emphasis on outbound/new business development.
• Proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets, particularly through new logo acquisition.
• Strong presence and confidence in selling to senior decision-makers.
• Experience developing territory or category-level sales strategies.
• Understanding of digital media, online marketing technology, and Axios' competitive landscape.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to lead deal execution across internal teams.
• Existing relationships within local/regional advertiser and agency ecosystems preferred.

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $66,000 - $87,000 plus a commission structure with on-target earnings (OTE) up to $145,000.
