FPGA Prototyping Applications Engineer

You will engineer the future with Synopsys, a leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems.

As an FPGA Prototyping Applications Engineer, you will provide pre-sale and post-sale technical support for Synopsys HAPS-based prototyping solutions, including HAPS hardware and ProtoCompiler software.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Working directly with customers to prototype multi-million gate ASIC designs
• Guiding customers through design partitioning, FPGA synthesis, system planning, and RTL debug
• Leading technical evaluations of HAPS products at customer sites
• Developing and delivering customer training materials, application notes, and technical articles
• Collaborating with R&D teams to escalate product quality issues and propose new features
• Traveling to customer sites as needed to support product deployments and troubleshoot critical issues
• Scripting automation solutions in TCL and Python to streamline customer workflows and improve prototype performance

The impact you will have:

• Enabling customers to catch critical bugs in multi-million gate SoCs before tape-out
• Accelerating time-to-market for products across various industries
• Shaping the roadmap of HAPS products based on real customer pain points and deployment challenges
• Building reusable methodologies, flows, and training content that scale across Synopsys's global customer base
• Acting as the technical expert for HAPS within Synopsys, influencing sales teams and customer adoption

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 8+ years
• Hands-on experience with FPGA-based prototyping
• Deep knowledge of digital design fundamentals, VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
• Proven ability to debug FPGA designs and handle complex timing constraints
• Strong scripting skills in TCL and Python
• Experience working directly with customers in a technical support, field applications, or consulting capacity

You will join the HAPS Application Engineering team within Synopsys's Go-to-market organization, working closely with sales teams, customers, and R&D teams to influence product direction.
