Description
Working as a Target Security Specialist means helping create a safe and secure environment for guests and team members. You will be part of the Assets Protection team, which focuses on preventing and resolving theft and fraud, as well as responding to crisis events.
As a Target Security Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests
- Responding to and documenting security incidents in a timely and accurate manner
- Using de-escalation tactics and resources to resolve conflicts
- Conducting merchandise theft recoveries and providing theft apprehension support as needed
- Preventing theft and shortage at the front of the store by performing merchandise receipt checks
- Submitting documentation in the case management system for all incidents
- Understanding and using Target's video surveillance system
- Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance

- Be able to work in a fast-moving, highly active, and physically demanding environment
- Be open to working a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
- Possess effective communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Be able to climb up and down ladders, apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy, and scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely
