As the Centre of Excellence for Infocomm Technology and Smart Systems (ICT & SS), GovTech develops the Singapore Government's capabilities in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Application Development, Smart City Technology, Digital Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity.
As a strong Technical Lead and Engineering Manager in SWDA, you will build the digital foundation of the next Singapore. You will lead agile teams in creating meaningful products that empower Singaporeans to realize their career ambitions and lifelong learning goals, directly fostering a competitive and inclusive nation.
Your responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product and UX leaders to create and drive a solid product vision and strategy
- Define team's engineering strategy and directions that align with the organization's overall vision and goals
- Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and manage roadmaps for delivering towards product vision incrementally and efficiently
- Proactively identify and initiate worthwhile engineering initiatives to maximize impact on public good
- Establish practices and tools to encourage strong engineering culture and maximize engineering effectiveness and impact
- Provide hands-on technical guidance, architectural oversight, and rigorous design reviews
- Set and uphold high engineering standards across the lifecycle
- Mentor and coach engineers to elevate team and engineering craft
- Identify and grow leaders, measure success, build and transform team structures
- Set standards, manage performance, and provide constructive feedback and guidance
- Identify resourcing needs and drive internal and external hiring
What we are looking for:
- Strong technical background with deep experience in system design and modern architecture
- Proven track record of running medium to large teams with multiple tracks of execution
- Experience with solving complex technical issues
- Experience in modern full-stack technologies
- Proven ability of providing technical leadership to large teams
- Strong Engineering practices, Quality and Security mindset
- Passion towards engineering excellence and working for public good
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering leadership roles
