Description
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the team at Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford, part of Circle Health Group. This bank role involves working on an 'as and when required' basis to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Dispensing and preparing medicines accurately in accordance with prescriptions and legal requirements
- Supplying medications to wards, theatres, and outpatient departments, ensuring safe and timely distribution
- Supporting discharge planning by preparing take-home medications and liaising with clinical teams to ensure continuity of care
- Participating in ward-based activities, including stock top-ups, medicines reconciliation, and patient counselling (within scope)
- Working closely with pharmacists and nursing teams to support safe and efficient use of medicines at ward level
- Helping to identify and reduce medication waste through effective stock rotation and communication with clinical areas
To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician
- Hold an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (or equivalent qualification)
- Have experience working in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting
- Possess excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Demonstrate good communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience in Oncology is desirable
Circle Health Group offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £23.00 per hour, depending on level of experience, training, and qualification.
