Description
As a Cloud Architect at GDIT, you will play a critical role in advancing the client's mission by enhancing existing cloud deployments and designing innovative cloud architectures tailored to mission needs.
Your work will be an important part of transforming clients for the modern age and helping them face any obstacle. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, and data engineers to design and implement cloud solutions that optimize workflows, enhance data processing capabilities, and support seamless integration across mission-critical systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and define Cloud Solutions architecture for new or existing Cloud systems services
- Provide business strategy, solution development, and technical guidance to develop business and market solutions that align with cloud service offerings
- Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and data engineers to design and implement cloud solutions
- Identify and analyze challenges, leveraging expertise to develop innovative cloud-based solutions
- Utilize expertise in cloud technologies such as virtual networks, compute resources, event-driven services, and traffic management to design and implement scalable and secure architectures
Requirements:
- 5-10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, design, and implementation for enterprise or mission-critical environments
- Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing virtual networks, compute resources, and cloud-based storage solutions
- Expertise in implementing and managing scalable and secure architectures using Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and event-driven computing models
- Strong knowledge of network security, identity and access management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST)
- Hands-on experience with load balancing, traffic management, and distributed systems
- Familiarity with automation tools and technologies, such as Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) frameworks (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with software engineers, data scientists, and data engineers
- Strong communication skills to translate technical requirements into actionable cloud solutions
