Description
As a Customer Delivery Driver at Waitrose & Partners, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality produce and providing excellent customer service to our customers. You will work in a team environment, supporting daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping in the shop.
Your typical day will involve:
- Checking your delivery routes for the day
- Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered direct to customers
- Conducting vehicle safety checks to maintain full road compliance and health and safety
- Providing great customer service and building a rapport with customers based on trust and service
- Supporting the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points
- Great customer service skills
- The ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role, such as lifting crates and walking up staircases
Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles are desirable, but not essential. We will provide you with all the training you need to perform at your best.
In terms of compensation, you will earn £13.00 per hour, increasing to £13.25 after 90 days. Additionally, any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a Night Premium of £3.75 per hour.
The role is permanent, part-time, with varied hours of 21.75 hours per week. The shifts are as follows: Vacancy 1: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday 10:00-18:00 Vacancy 2: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 10:00-18:00
