Description
Logitech's Design Capabilities, Sustainability & Inclusion (DCSI) team is looking for an Industrial Design Intern to explore how AI can help designers work more creatively and effectively.
You will work alongside experienced designers to turn real design needs into practical tools and workflow prototypes. Potential projects include a keycap generator, a tool to assist with product compliance markings and layouts, and a quick start guide generator.
In this role, you will:
- Work with designers to identify repetitive tasks and opportunities where AI could improve design workflows.
- Translate design needs into clear tool concepts, user flows, and interactive prototypes.
- Explore AI-assisted methods for generating and adapting design assets, layouts, and product documentation.
- Help build and iterate working prototypes using AI tools, design software, and coding or low-code platforms, with guidance from your mentor.
- Test prototypes with designers, gather feedback, and improve their usability, consistency, and output quality.
- Work with relevant specialists to understand requirements and support human review of generated outputs.
- Document experiments, learnings, and workflows so others can understand, reuse, and develop the work further.
- Share progress through demonstrations and design reviews, collaborating with partners across design and engineering.
Key Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Design Technology, or a related field.
- Strong design fundamentals, with attention to form, visual communication, detail, and user experience.
- Curiosity about AI and a willingness to experiment, test assumptions, and learn through making.
- Familiarity with relevant design and prototyping tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Rhino, or equivalent software.
- Some hands-on experience with generative AI tools, through coursework, personal projects, or design experiments.
- Ability to break down a design challenge and communicate ideas through sketches, diagrams, or prototypes.
- Good collaboration and time-management skills, openness to feedback, and a proactive approach to learning.
- Coding, scripting, parametric design, or low-code/no-code experience is a plus; advanced software engineering expertise is not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Your Portfolio: Please share examples that demonstrate your design thinking, experimentation, and ability to turn ideas into tangible outcomes. AI-assisted projects, interactive prototypes, custom tools, or workflow experiments are welcome.
Benefits: Logitech offers comprehensive and competitive benefits packages and working environments that are designed to be flexible and help you to care for yourself and your loved ones.
