Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our Compliance Technology Operations (CTO) team, which is part of the Global Ethics and Compliance organization. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for building and maintaining statistical and ML/AI-based solutions in the AML & Sanctions Compliance space, specifically supporting the Sanctions Screening.

You will be expected to demonstrate expertise in sanctions screening and name-matching, along with experience working with rules-based or statistical models and familiarity with major sanctions platforms such as Fircosoft, Comply, Advantage, World-Check, and Actimize.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct large-scale data analysis to inform business decisions
• Develop and enhance sanctions screening models using machine learning and fuzzy matching techniques
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support testing, validation, audits, and regulatory reviews
• Prepare technical documentation and communicate findings to stakeholders

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree
• Strong analytical skills, with expertise in AI techniques, including machine learning, natural language processing, and deep learning
• Experience with Python libraries such as pandas, numpy, matplot, and Scikit
• Excellent knowledge of database management, data extraction, and data manipulation skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in machine learning model development and implementation using tools like SAS, SQL, Python/R, Hive, and/or Spark
• Building predictive and descriptive statistical models using AI/ML algorithms
• Familiarity with techniques including fuzzy matching, NLP-based n-grams methodology, phonetics, tokenization, and similarity scoring
