Practice Nurse

We are seeking a part-time Practice Nurse to join our team at Wimbledon Medical Practice. As a Practice Nurse, you will provide nursing services to patients, including treatment, screening, and advice within your professional competence. You will work independently in the surgery in the absence of a GP and be responsible for maintaining the treatment room and sterilisation of instruments.

The ideal candidate will have experience in practice nursing, good communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively with patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds. You will be expected to have a strong understanding of clinical governance and the UKCC Professional Code/Standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide nursing services to patients, including treatment, screening, and advice
• Work independently in the surgery in the absence of a GP
• Maintain the treatment room and sterilisation of instruments
• Assist doctors as required
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements:

• RGN qualification
• 2 years post-registration experience
• Experience of EMIS system
• Knowledge of UKCC Professional Code/Standards and clinical governance
• Ability to communicate verbally and undertake clinical audit
