Description
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Assistant, Human Resources to support the Human Resources team in Caracas, Venezuela.
The IRC responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is one of the world's largest international humanitarian non-governmental organisations (INGO), at work in more than 40 countries and 29 US cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities.
The humanitarian crisis in Venezuela continues to intensify. Venezuelans face hyperinflation, which puts basic goods and services, including healthcare and food, out of reach. The scarcity of medical supplies makes it difficult to diagnose and treat transmissible diseases and sexual and reproductive health needs, among other services. The lack of food has led to hunger and malnutrition. Between 2015 and 2018, over three million Venezuelans left to seek goods and services mainly in neighbouring countries.
The IRC provides emergency response services in the states of Zulia, Lara, Falcón, Táchira, and Apure, working in collaboration with Venezuelan civil society organisations to provide essential services to vulnerable people, including Primary Health Care (PHC), Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), Nutrition, prevention and response to Gender-Based Violence (GBV), child protection, Education in Emergencies, Food Security, and Livelihoods.
