Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a Staff Engineer to lead our EU Infrastructure team, focusing on building and operating compute, cloud, and networking capabilities for Wolt, Deliveroo, and DoorDash. As a hands-on technical leader, you will set direction for the platform, solve complex problems, and mentor engineers.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for shared AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure, balancing reliability, security, developer experience, and cost.
- Lead substantial initiatives from design through rollout and operation, coordinating dependencies and decisions across Wolt, Deliveroo, and DoorDash.
- Evolve Kubernetes clusters, cloud networking, identity, and infrastructure provisioning to support growing and varied workloads.
- Build reusable Terraform patterns and self-service tooling for safe and consistent infrastructure provisioning.
- Improve deployment and operational practices, including GitOps, observability, capacity planning, incident response, and recovery.
- Use production signals and developer feedback to identify platform friction and measure the effectiveness of changes.
- Assist with supporting the platform, focusing on GPU infrastructure and compute in general.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, implementation, and incidents.
Requirements
- Deep experience building and operating Kubernetes and AWS infrastructure in production.
- Strong software engineering skills in languages like Go or Python.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and designing systems for other engineering teams.
- A track record of leading complex technical work across teams.
- Strong judgment on trade-offs in distributed systems, networking, security, reliability, and cloud cost.
- Clear communication and the ability to bring people together around a practical technical direction.
Benefits
- Scope and influence: shape infrastructure used globally while staying close to engineering.
- Real problems at global scale: work on multi-cluster Kubernetes, AI/ML workloads, cloud networking, and more.
- Autonomy and ownership: set direction and see it through from design to operation.
- Growth: room to expand your scope through deeper technical leadership or broader cross-domain influence.
- Great people: work with talented engineers and leaders in a diverse, international environment.
