Description
This is a waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization position, working within shipyards and drydocks onboard U.S. Naval ships.
The Engineering Technician II will install, maintain, repair, overhaul, troubleshoot, modify, construct, and test various types of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and related devices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Applying technical knowledge of electronics principles to put equipment in operational condition and solve complex problems
- Troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment
- Modifying circuitry to improve performance
- Making recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems
- Providing operation and maintenance instruction to customer personnel
- Preparing operating and malfunction reports and related documentation
- Assisting engineering staff in determining and solving equipment design problems
Requirements:
- 3+ years of related experience
- Associates of Arts/Associates of Science degree
- US Citizenship Required
- Cableway Certified, Connector Certified Modular, COAX, Multi-Pin Connector Fabricator and Inspector: Connector Trained and Qualified with 40 hours OJT

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $26.35 - $35.65.
