WSP is seeking an Early Career Technician - Design Support to join their Baton Rouge, LA office.
As an Early Career Technician, you will provide technical design and CADD support on projects to produce designs and specifications for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with collecting, compiling, and analysing data from physical work sites, surveys, and technical drawings to support drafting and design activities.
- Use 3D computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software to assist with basic design details and prepare drawings requiring high precision.
- Provide basic technical design assistance, ensuring proper illustration, fit, form, and function of designs.
- Verify calculations, design changes, and interpret contract plans and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure plans adhere to city code, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-education experience in a discipline with prior drafting and design support experience.
- Familiarity with drafting and design support principles, practices, processes, methods, and techniques.
- Excellent research and evaluation skills with an analytical mindset.
- Capable interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in a closely related discipline.
- Essential professional licensure/certification.
