Description
We are seeking a Risk & Assurance Lead to join the Railway Safety Team until 31 March 2027. The successful candidate will be based at one of our office locations: London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, York, or Glasgow.
The ORR operates a hybrid working model, requiring employees to work from a workplace location other than home for at least 40% of each month. This may vary depending on the role and business needs.
As a Risk & Assurance Lead, you will help establish a consistent and effective approach to risk, assurance, compliance, and performance reporting across the Railway Safety Directorate. You will work closely with colleagues to develop processes, reporting arrangements, and practical tools that enable managers to understand key risks, monitor performance, and ensure important obligations are being met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing risk management processes and reporting arrangements
- Providing assurance and compliance support to the Railway Safety Directorate
- Analyzing data and producing management information to support effective reporting and decision-making
- Collaborating with colleagues to identify and mitigate risks
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality results
