Description
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an Imaging Staff Nurse to join their Interventional Radiology team. The successful candidate will deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
The Imaging Staff Nurse will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate specialist nursing care while promoting dignity, equality, and wellbeing in line with the NMC Code.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within Interventional Radiology
- Delivering specialist care including pre-assessment, conscious sedation, medication administration, post-procedure recovery, and management of deteriorating patients
- Demonstrating specialist clinical skills by assisting with procedures, monitoring patients, maintaining radiation safety, and ensuring safe patient handovers and transfers
- Supporting service delivery and development by maintaining high standards of practice, participating in audits, quality improvement, and research, and contributing to local policies and guidelines
- Providing teaching, supervision, and mentorship to students, healthcare support workers, and junior staff
