Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Pharmacist to join our team in Warrenville, IL. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities in the Pharmacy Fulfillment area, educating patients on medication administration, and providing direct oversight of pharmacy technicians and interns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret, review, and adjudicate prescriptions
- Prepare and dispense medications to patients
- Check prescriptions for accuracy
- Provide medication therapy reviews and assess medication appropriateness
- Contact prescribing physicians to discuss prescription questions
- Provide patient counseling and education on medication use
- Comply with state and federal laws related to prescription preparation and dispensing
- Develop policies and procedures to improve workflow
- Ensure proper stock maintenance and medication handling
- Maintain accurate records and profiles
Requirements:
- B.S. Pharmacy or PharmD degree required
- At least 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably with mail-order experience
- Active Illinois pharmacist license in good standing
- Ability to make clinical decisions and communicate effectively
- Compassionate and courteous with excellent interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic work environment
