Description
We are seeking a Painter Maintenance to join our team at GDIT in Seattle, Washington.
As a Painter Maintenance, you will be responsible for painting, staining, enameling, varnishing, lacquering, and redecorating interior and exterior surfaces. You will mix paint and match colors to achieve the desired color, and use various tools such as cloth, brushes, sprayers, rollers, and sponges to apply paint or other coatings.
Responsibilities:
- Paints, stains, enamels, varnishes, lacquers and redecorates interior and exterior surfaces.
- Mixes paint and matches colors to achieve desired color.
- Uses cloth, brushes, sprayer, roller, and/or sponges to apply paint or other coatings.
- Removes old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds, or a blowtorch.
- May fill nail holes, joints and cracks in walls with plaster or other filler.
- May replace door or window glass.
- Requisitions new painting supplies and equipment.
- Participates in special projects, as required.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of related experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
- Preferred experience in marine painting and Lagging per the NAVSEA STANDARD ITEM 009-11 Title: Insulation and Lagging

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $25.63 - $29.88.
