The Kinetic Effects Business Area within Leidos Defense Sector has an opportunity for an Applied Aerodynamics Engineer to work at the Huntsville, AL campus. The role involves designing and analysing missile and aviation systems.
The position requires applying analytical and semi-empirical aerodynamic prediction tools to design and analyse flight vehicles. The engineer will support aerodynamic design trade studies, performance assessments, testing, and development of high-fidelity aerodynamic characterisations of flight vehicles.

Requirements
- Minimum of a BS degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and 2+ years of experience.
- Or a Masters degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.
- Demonstrated capabilities in programming languages Python or Matlab.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate constructively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Willingness to try and learn new skills, and to refine existing skills.
- Must be a US citizen and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance.
- Must be a resident of the North Alabama area, or willing to relocate, to work on-site at the Huntsville, AL campus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industry-standard aerodynamic prediction tools and experience in wind tunnel testing.
- Prior experience with computational fluid dynamics.

- Pay Range: $69,550.00 - $125,725.00
