Description

Ajax Systems, a global technology company and Europe's largest security system manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Embedded Linux engineer to develop software for video device hardware platforms.

The Video Devices division handles the entire product creation process, from concept to mass production, combining expertise in mechanics, hardware, image quality, optics, embedded systems, and networking.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and define the architecture of the video processing chain, selecting image sensors and ISP/SoC platforms based on resolution, codec, dynamic range, and power consumption requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Linux BSP for prototypes, including bootloader (U-Boot), kernel configuration, device tree, sensor drivers, ISP pipeline, and streaming stack optimization.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers on schematic design and PCB layout, reviewing video interfaces, power supply, and EMI/EMC-critical sections.
  • Perform hardware debugging of prototypes, checking digital/analog interface signals, network and power circuits.
  • Participate in firmware development for final devices, including debugging, performance and power consumption optimization, and release.
  • Interact with QA, reviewing and adjusting test cases during manual and stand testing.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of Embedded Linux (U-boot, ARM Toolchains, Kernel, RootFS, BusyBox) with at least 3 years of development experience.
  • Professional proficiency in C, shell scripting, and tools like Git and make.
  • Knowledge of ARM processor architecture.
  • Familiarity with digital and analog interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART/TTL, Ethernet, USB, HDMI, MIPI, SATA, eMMC).
  • Experience with peripherals such as sensors, actuators, controllers, and accelerometers.

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of the network stack (TCP/IP, sockets) at the application level.
  • Experience with multi-sensor/multi-modal imaging systems.
  • Skills in reviewing schematics and PCB layouts, understanding analog and digital interfaces.
  • Familiarity with EDA Altium (review, not necessarily development from scratch).
  • Experience with IDEs (Eclipse, IAR, CCS) and cross-compilation toolchains for ARM.
  • Python scripting for test automation and bring-up tools.
  • Completed projects in mass production or non-commercial projects created for personal use.

We offer:

  • The opportunity to propose and implement ideas influencing the product and production.
  • Work in a motivated team with zero bureaucracy culture.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Medical insurance.
  • Corporate English language courses.
  • Compensation for profile training.
