Description
Mastercard is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Architect) to join its MDES team. The successful candidate will lead the architecture and design of MDES services and define regional distribution/localization design for MDES.
Responsibilities:
- Lead platform/solution architecture design addressing all non-functional requirements
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering Team to develop high-level designs
- Develop critical components and create proof-of-concepts for new/unknown use cases/ideas
- Conduct code reviews, ensure overall code quality, and coach/mentor less experienced team members
- Write and review design documentation as needed
- Perform SCM operations, including branching, merging, tagging, and conflict resolution
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve existing solutions
- Comply with organizational processes, policies, and protect intellectual property
Requirements:
- Experience leading at least one Scrum team
- Expertise in core Java, Spring Boot, Spring (MVC, IOC, AOP, Security), SQL, RDBMS (Oracle and PostGRES), NoSQL (Cassandra), Web-services (JSON and SOAP), Kafka, Zookeeper
- Hands-on experience with microservice applications and deployment on public clouds (Google, AWS, Azure)
- Familiarity with Intellij/Eclipse/MyEclipse IDE, UML tools (MS Visio, PlantUML), JUnit test cases, Maven/Ant/Gradle, GIT
- Strong logical and analytical skills, design skills, and excellent communication skills in English
- Knowledge of design patterns and security concepts
Additional/Desirable Capabilities:
- Experience in the payments application domain
- Familiarity with tools like Mockito, JBehave, Jenkins, Bamboo, Confluence, Rally
