Description
We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Beaumont Hospital in Bolton. This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, providing cover for existing staff during busy periods and annual leave.
The successful candidate will have a master's degree in pharmacy (MPharm or equivalent), GPhC registration as a Pharmacist, and previous experience in a clinical hospital pharmacy role. Strong knowledge of therapeutics, clinical guidelines, and pharmaceutical legislation is essential, as well as excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting medication reviews for inpatients and outpatients, identifying interactions, contraindications, and opportunities for medicines optimisation
- Providing tailored advice to patients on their treatment plans, including side effects, compliance, and lifestyle considerations
- Supporting safe prescribing through reconciliation, clinical screening, and dose adjustment
- Reviewing and authorising prescriptions in line with clinical guidelines, formulary restrictions, and regulatory requirements
- Promoting safe and cost-effective use of medicines by supporting adherence to local and national policies
