Join Cisco Software Solutions as a software developer and help drive consistency, reliability, and observability across our platforms.
We're a distributed team of developers with an operational mindset, working on data center and cloud infrastructure, tools, and services at scale.
As a member of our new tools team, you'll work on lifecycle automation, observability, and operability improvements, as well as unify or retire tools, and build new tenant or operator-facing functionality.
Agentic AI tool use will play a significant part in your day-to-day work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience
- 1+ year of experience working with a public or private cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, or OpenShift)
- 1+ year of experience working with Docker and/or virtualization
- 1+ year of experience working with CI/CD or DevOps systems
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with Agentic AI development tools (Claude CLI, Codex, Copilot, OpenCode)
- Programming languages (Python, Golang, Java, Javascript, or Typescript)
- Lifecycle/deployment tools (Ansible or Terraform)
- Network administration
- Linux administration (especially Linux networking)
- Design, implementation, and operation of distributed software
- Infrastructure or service operations at scale
- HTTP, REST, the DOM
- Virtualization technologies
- Containerization technologies (Docker)
- Management and operations of OpenStack or Kubernetes platforms
- Infrastructure management tools (Intersight and UCS Manager)
