Job Summary
The Ocean Operations Associate role is critical to Flexport's mission to make global trade easy for everyone. You will work directly with partners within your region, including account management and customs teams, subcontractors, carriers, terminals, and trucking providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute service delivery for clients, spotting opportunities to improve and grow customers' businesses
- Develop specialised expertise in supply chain operations, focusing on ocean LCL imports and exports
- Coordinate day-to-day supply operations with LCL, transload, trucking, and warehouse activities
- Analyse data to rate subcontractor performance and inform performance management initiatives
- Implement and test scalable operational infrastructure and procedures to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Troubleshoot shipments and handle exceptions
- Collaborate with account management teams to ensure client needs are met
- Use metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, ocean carrier operations, or consulting
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and process-oriented thinking
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Client service mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to work outside office hours and occasional weekend or night shifts
