Description
The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Theatre Practitioner - SFA to join their team in the Theatre department. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week, with a flexible shift pattern.
The successful candidate will provide skilled assistance to surgeons during operations, support safe patient positioning, promote patient dignity and respect, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing skilled assistance to surgeons during operations
- Supporting safe patient positioning prior to surgical procedures
- Promoting patient dignity, empathy, and respect
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team
- Adhering to policies and protocols related to infection prevention, patient identification, and surgical safety checklists
- Acting within the scope of practice and training as a Surgical First Assistant
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Registered healthcare professional with a post-registration qualification as a Surgical First Assistant
- Demonstrable perioperative experience and competence in surgical assistance tasks and aseptic technique
- Good understanding of surgical anatomy, patient positioning, and safety protocols
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, and compassionate care

The salary for this role is up to £45,000 per year, depending on experience, training, and qualifications.
