Description
NVIDIA is seeking a Senior SBIOS Firmware Engineer to join their firmware team. The successful candidate will help customers bring NVIDIA platforms to life, from initial system bring-up and reference platform qualification through deployment at scale. The role involves working at the intersection of firmware engineering, platform architecture, and customer enablement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, integrate, and debug SBIOS firmware for NVIDIA datacenter reference platforms and customer systems.
- Collaborate with customers, OEMs, and ODMs to resolve firmware issues, guide platform integration, and translate deployment requirements into engineering improvements.
- Support reference platforms across the product lifecycle, establishing validated firmware configurations, documenting platform behavior, and making solutions reusable across customer designs.
- Investigate complex issues across firmware, hardware, BMC, and operating system boundaries.
- Partner with hardware, firmware, software, validation, and customer engineering teams to drive issue resolution and customer adoption.
- Utilize AI-assisted development, debugging, and automation to analyze logs, accelerate root cause investigation, and improve test coverage.
- Develop diagnostic tools, automated tests, and technical guidance to improve platform readiness and customer deployment.
- Communicate technical findings, risks, and resolution plans clearly to internal teams and external partners.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience developing and debugging System BIOS/UEFI firmware on ARM or x86 server platforms.
- Solid understanding of server architecture, including processor initialization, memory systems, PCIe, interrupts, boot flows, and interactions among SBIOS, BMC, and the operating system.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex system issues using firmware logs, operating system diagnostics, hardware interfaces, and structured experiments.
- Experience supporting server bring-up, platform qualification, or customer deployment.
- Strong C programming skills and experience using Python or shell scripting to build diagnostic tools and automate engineering workflows.
- Hands-on experience applying AI tools to software development, debugging, testing, or technical analysis.
- Understanding of server reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS), firmware security, and production datacenter environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Proven experience enabling customer deployments of NVIDIA CPU or GPU server platforms.
- Deep expertise in ARM server architecture, UEFI, ACPI, SMBIOS, or firmware interfaces with Linux.
- Experience debugging issues that span SBIOS, BMC, and platform management interfaces.
- A track record of building AI-assisted engineering workflows that improve debugging speed, software quality, or customer support efficiency.
- Experience turning reference platform designs and lessons from customer deployments into reusable tools, documentation, and validation coverage.
