Description
GDIT is seeking an experienced Oracle Migration SME to lead a complex enterprise cloud migration from Microsoft Azure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
The Senior Project Manager/Technical SME will partner closely with technical leadership, application owners, cloud architects, Oracle, Microsoft, implementation partners, and business stakeholders to develop and execute the migration roadmap while minimizing business disruption and managing technical and operational risk.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with system federal and contractor PMs to develop a detailed phased migration plan, including timelines, risk mitigation strategies, and rollback procedures.
- Provide active oversight, monitoring migration activities, including data transfer, application establishment, and system integration.
- Oversee the configuration and provisioning of the target cloud environment in accordance with agency security and compliance requirements.
- Achieve secure decommissioning through the end of the migration lifecycle.
- Manage the performance of post-migration validation, testing, and performance tuning.
- Create knowledge transfer documentation of the transition process.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience and knowledge with Azure and Oracle cloud providers.
- Direct experience leading an Azure-to-OCI migration or comparable hyperscaler-to-hyperscaler cloud migration.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services, migration methodologies, and cloud architecture.
- Experience with Oracle technology and application platforms – Oracle Fusion - Financials, Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and other Oracle databases/Exadata.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to provide guidance to a small team and to integrate as part of a larger team.
- Demonstrated experience working in a load-balanced environment.
- Understanding of IT practices, service management, governance frameworks, and industry standards (i.e., ITIL, ITSM, COBIT, ISO).
