As a General Merchandise Expert, you will be part of the General Merchandise (GM) team, which prioritizes guest experience while ensuring product is available and easy to shop. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience
- Greeting guests, helping them find what they need, and resolving issues
- Supporting team efforts and assisting peers in other areas
- Executing daily tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, and maintaining the sales floor and backroom
- Operating power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified
- Learning and executing operational procedures such as setting and organizing merchandise, managing product accuracy and stock levels, and maintaining sales floor areas
- Following all Target policies and safety procedures
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Ability to resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
